Biography

Studied German language and literature, history, journalism and philosophy at the Universities of Marburg, Mainz and Regensburg. Doctorate in 1997, habilitation in 2003. 1993-2003 research assistant/assistant at the Chair of German Linguistics at the University of Regensburg. Since February 2004 professor of German studies – applied linguistics at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Advertising linguistics and business communication, technical and scientific communication, language culture and language criticism, text and discourse linguistics

Doctorate in 1999. 1998-2000 Lectureships at Aarhus School of Business and Herning Business and Engineering College. 2000-2003 Assistant professor,  2003-2011 Associate professor at Aarhus School of Business, since 2011 Associate professor at Aarhus University.

Business communication, corporate communication, advertising language, marketing communication, intercultural business communication in the Danish-German context.

Biography:

Professor and Head of the German Studies Department at Åbo Akademi University. Studied German, Romance languages and English in Kiel and Åbo. Doctorate in literary theory in 2000; habilitation in intercultural business communication at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in 2010. Established the interdisciplinary programme in Intercultural Business German Studies at Åbo Akademi University, which is anchored across faculties, and co-founded the international double degree programme Intercultural Advertising: Language, Media, Marketing in cooperation with the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

Main areas of research:

Intercultural business communication, market communication, cognitive linguistics, metaphorology, specialised language theory, text type theory, semiotics.
